All set for the 449th jumps from the Old Bridge, no TV broadcast

On the last Sunday of July, the traditional 449th jumps from the Old Bridge will be held in Mostar. Divers will compete in two disciplines: feet-first jump and Mostar swallow, writes BH news agency Patria.

This year, competitors from all countries of the former Yugoslavia are expected, but the largest number of divers will traditionally be from Mostar. There will be no TV broadcast this year, and the jumps begin at 4 PM.

The height from which divers will jump into the Neretva River is about 23 meters. This year, the 449th jumps have a special sponsor, Tuzla-based Dita, and as the organizers state, it is a sponsor out of love, and this is their way of showing support.

In the exhibition part of the jumps, veterans and divers from Kragujevac will perform.

The event will be closed with acrobatic jumps and a torchlight procession at 10 PM.
