Residents of Sarajevo living in the Malta neighborhood near the food company Klas were pleasantly surprised today by a freight train that delivered wheat to the company's facilities, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Klas is one of the largest food companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded 113 years ago. However, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, its facilities were almost completely destroyed and production was jeopardized. The train that delivered wheat to Klas today reminded Sarajevo residents of the golden times, but also gave hope that the economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina is beginning to recover.
- Today we received another train with the highest quality wheat – boasted Klas director Rusmir Hrvić on his Facebook profile.
Klas began to experience a revival again in March 2014, when the company became part of AS GROUP, the most successful Bosnian-Herzegovinian food company in whose group also operate Vispak from Visoko, Oaza from Tešanj, Sprind Sarajevo, Mlin i pekara Ljubače from Tuzla, AS Jelah, Napredak Tešanj, Fortitudo Travnik, Vemal Tešanj...
In the first ten months of last year, Klas increased its production and sale of flour by as much as 93% compared to the same period the previous year, and the company also opened new markets in the world, writes Patria.
