Declining interest in vaccination in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the KS Public Health Institute, 109 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after 776 samples were laboratory tested. In the same period, 108 people recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Two patients died as a result of this disease.

Currently, 125 patients are hospitalized, of whom 119 have acute infections, while the rest are post-Covid or are under observation/triage.

The proportion of vaccinated people among the hospitalized is 19.84 percent.

At the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, 67 patients are being treated, and at the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš" 58. Five people are on ventilators, and 17 patients use non-invasive ventilation. Nine patients use oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,631 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 2,526 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 66,401 people infected with coronavirus have been registered in Sarajevo Canton, and 63,221 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 138, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 229," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

In the Covid outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, 318 patients were examined, of whom six were transported to hospital treatment. 753 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid call center recorded 514 calls, and 220 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in Covid outpatient clinics.

During the past day, 291 vaccines were administered in Sarajevo Canton.

The KS Ministry of Health once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated, in order to protect their own health and the health of those around them. This ministry and health institutions thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
