Every kilometer of highway in BiH means we are one kilometer closer to Europe

Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, said during the opening of the Sarajevo Bypass that every kilometer of highway in BiH is a step closer to the European Union for all its citizens.

In an interview for Patria, the Prime Minister said that, given the situation BiH is in, every success in BiH, every event, every move should make every normal Bosnian and Herzegovinian happy. However, unfortunately, he says, it is not uncommon for every big step and progress in our country to be criminalized and challenged.

The construction of the nine-kilometer-long section of the Sarajevo Bypass, which connects the completed highway from Zenica to Vogošća with the section of the highway being built from Sarajevo towards Herzegovina, and whose construction cost around 36.8 million KM, represents one of the biggest undertakings in the recent history of BiH construction.

These jobs, on the domestic highway, have opened doors for them in the international construction market, which should bring progress to the entire BiH.

- We are witnessing attempts to criminalize everything positive that happens in BiH, to look for reasons for accusations - the Prime Minister told Patria. However, he says, he does not belong to that group of people; he equally values the positive things done by those who were before him, and those who are now building positive values in BiH.

- The fact is that we have waited a very long time for this section of the highway, the fact is that we had loans whose grace period expired, which we started repaying without even realizing them, but the fact is also that a team has now arrived that wants to work, that is intensively working on the construction of BiH, and every kilometer of highway in our country is a kilometer closer to a normal life and the normal world, as well as to the arrival of new investments in our country - Nikšić told Patria.
