Wedding convoy in front of the mosque disturbed public order and peace: SDA councilor also attacked

(Patria) - The Municipal Board of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Jajce issued a statement regarding the incident that occurred in the city center during the passage of a wedding convoy.

According to SDA Jajce, the wedding convoy stopped in front of the city mosque, where some participants, waving ethnic flags and chanting loudly, disturbed public order and peace with the clear intention of provocation.

The party points out that it is particularly concerning that one of the participants in the wedding convoy verbally attacked Rasim Šahman, an SDA councilor in the Municipal Council of Jajce, at one of the traffic lights, who was in traffic at the time in his private vehicle. The attack, as confirmed, was reported to the Jajce Police Station.

- SDA Jajce, as a responsible political organization, considers it its obligation to react to tonight's incident that occurred in the center of our city.

During the passage of the wedding convoy, it stopped in front of the city mosque, during which some participants, in an inappropriate manner, by waving ethnic flags of one nation and chanting loudly, disturbed public order and peace with the clear intention of provocation, but fortunately unsuccessfully.

The fact that one of the participants in the convoy verbally attacked Rasim Šahman, an SDA councilor in the Municipal Council of Jajce, who was in traffic at the time in his private vehicle, from a vehicle at one of the traffic lights is particularly concerning.

Our councilor reported the attack to the Jajce Police Station.

We believe that such actions disrupt the stable and peaceful atmosphere that Jajce has cultivated for years, and we strongly condemn them.

We call on the competent public order and peace authorities – the police and the judiciary – to take the necessary measures and sanction those responsible in accordance with the law.

At the same time, we appeal to all citizens to contribute to preserving mutual respect, a good and well-established life, and to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents with their behavior and messages, SDA stated.
