Tomorrow: Closing Arguments of the Defense in the Orić and Muhić Case

Tomorrow, before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the presentation of closing arguments by the defense continues in the case against the war hero of the defense of Srebrenica, Naser Orić, and Sabahudin Muhić, writes the news agency Patria.

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., prosecutor Miroslav Janjić, at the last hearing before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, delivered closing arguments in the case against Naser Orić and Muhić. The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina seeks that the accused Orić and Muhić be punished for the murder of three prisoners of Serbian nationality in the places of Zalazje, Lolići, and Kunjerac near Bratunac.

In his closing arguments, prosecutor Janjić mostly relied on the statements of protected witness O-1 and witness Ibran Mustafić, and it is interesting that he did not refer to any material evidence!? Who the protected witness O1 is and what his credibility is is best illustrated by the fact that he has been finally convicted 11 times for multiple criminal offenses!

Lejla Čović, attorney for Naser Orić, at earlier hearings listed dozens of horrifying details related to the protected witness. It was incredible that such a witness was even included in this process as relevant. It turned out that he was convicted multiple times for false representation, fraud, causing grievous bodily harm. For abuse of social insurance rights, and he was even charged with robbery. Also, a court proceeding is ongoing because he robbed an elderly woman in Tuzla.

Since O1 entered the witness protection program for this process, he has not appeared at this court proceeding due to the robbery of the elderly woman. He was convicted of several frauds committed between June 2002 and May 2003, and he served a sentence in prison in Tuzla for that.

O1, who testified via video link, said that Naser Orić personally killed judge Slobodan Ilić in Zalazje and fired a burst of gunfire at prisoners fleeing from houses. Janjić also referred to O1's statement regarding the murder of Milutin Milošević and Mitar Savić.

Janjić said in his closing arguments that the statements of O1 and Mustafić are consistent with other witness statements.
Speaking about the credibility of O1 and Mustafić, Janjić said that O1 testifies even though members of the Army of Republika Srpska killed his brother and his sister's minor daughter, and for Mustafić he pointed out that a psychiatric evaluation determined he is above-average intelligent.

However, such a conclusion could not be heard earlier in the courtroom, as the experts only established that Mustafić is capable of testifying. We recall, Ibran Mustafić caused a real scandal in the courtroom, and Mustafić was removed from the courtroom by a decision of the Trial Chamber presided over by Judge Šaban Maksumić, after which his psychiatric evaluation was requested.
The news agency Patria is in possession of a document prepared by Dragan Kijac, head of the MUP RS in Bijeljina, addressed to the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, dated July 13, 1995.

It states that among the captured is Ibran Mustafić.
