Silence on Gaza is proof that the BiH Presidency must change its composition!

It is shameful that the BiH Presidency has not issued a single sentence regarding the horrific crimes happening in Gaza against the Palestinian people, stated for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) Bakir Hadžiomerović, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for a member of the BiH Presidency.

- If you are going to comment on such an occasion, on the killing of children, on hundreds of dead, then... It is unclear to me that they are not capable of taking a stance even on such horrific crimes – says Hadžiomerović.

The highest state leadership in BiH has still not commented, although it has jurisdiction over foreign policy. For weeks, Israel has been carrying out an offensive on the Gaza Strip in Palestine, during which hundreds of people have been killed and thousands wounded.  

- When we go back and realize that the BiH Presidency, although the European Union asked them to, could not even adopt any stance on the Sejdić-Finci case in four years. This is perhaps the best proof that the situation and composition of the BiH Presidency need to be changed. That these three people are not capable of agreeing even on matters condemned by the entire free world. They are silent. When you are silent, you approve, but I will not accuse them of that, rather I will say that it is shameful – emphasizes Hadžiomerović.

According to him, the fact that consensus on this issue would probably not be reached in the BiH Presidency is not an excuse either.  

- It is not an excuse for someone not to speak out publicly. It is clear to me that due to Dayton and the decision-making process, because there are rallies in Serbia in support of these horrific crimes committed by the Israeli authorities, perhaps there is no agreement. But that does not prevent you as an individual and a member of the BiH Presidency from making a statement in which you will say that you disagree with these crimes – adds Hadžiomerović for NAP.
