Supervisor Crishock: Vision and Strong Leadership Key to Brčko's Progress

(Patria9 - On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Brčko District, the first deputy high representative and supervisor for the Brčko District, Louis Crishock, paid a two-day visit to Brčko. During the visit, the supervisor met with local and international stakeholders to discuss the current political and security situation, the status of ongoing projects, and key economic priorities of utmost importance for the continued development of Brčko.

Supervisor Crishock emphasised the importance of strong leadership for further strengthening and improving Brčko's unique socio-economic model.

Supervisor Crishock met with Ilija Studen, General Director of Studen&Co Holding, to discuss the relationship between the business community and local government, as well as the business community's commitment to fostering economic growth in Brčko.

The supervisor also met with leading Brčko officials, Mayor Siniša Milić, Deputy Mayor Anto Domić, Assembly President Damir Bulčević, and Vice President Ivo Filipović. The focus of the talks was the importance of investing maximum efforts in protecting the stability of the District amid current political challenges and the need for authorities to continue focusing on fulfilling their obligations to improve the living standard of the residents of the Brčko District.

The supervisor also took the opportunity to discuss development perspectives and the priorities of the authorities with the President of the SBB in Brčko, Ina Pamukčić.
During the visit, the supervisor also met with the commander of the EUFOR LOT, Major Huber, who is assuming duty in Brčko, highlighting the important role EUFOR plays in maintaining a secure environment.

During his stay in Brčko, Supervisor Crishock attended a Conference on Transport Infrastructure, during which it was emphasised that Brčko is not only a transit hub but also a key commercial point connecting Bosnia and Herzegovina with EU and regional markets.

With appropriate policies and investments, Brčko has the potential to be a model of growth and progress. The supervisor addressed the ceremonial academy organised to mark District Day. Every anniversary of the District is a significant indicator of Brčko's success, particularly in strengthening multi-ethnic cooperation, promoting inclusive and transparent governance, and ensuring sustainable growth.

To conclude the visit, Supervisor Crishock met with Chief Imam Mustafa ef. Gobeljić, Dean of the Brčko Deanery Damir Ivanović, and Protojerej-Stavrofor Miodrag Tošić, extending his best wishes for a peaceful and blessed fast for all communities. They jointly welcomed the fact that different religious communities in the Brčko District live harmoniously in respect and understanding.

From ef. Gobeljić, the supervisor received information about the plans and activities for the reconstruction of the Hadži-pašina Mosque, which was recently destroyed in a fire.

The international community remains a committed partner in providing support to the Brčko District on its path to becoming a successful, developed, self-sustaining community, free of corruption and open to investment.
