Super affordable vacation, with "crazy" cows, an increasingly popular destination for Bosnians!

Albania is a hit summer resort for a large number of BiH citizens this year, writes the Patria News Agency. We saw this for ourselves on the spot. Those we met on the beaches say that this was not an easy decision, because when they were suggested a vacation in Albania, they mostly first thought of the saying "as developed as Albanian tourism, and secondly because Albania is still an unknown to us.

So we also wanted to see what the Albanian sea is like, not the "ours" in Croatia, but in Durrës, a city about 400 kilometers away from Sarajevo and in which you will simply enjoy. The Albanian sea is nowhere near "ours" in Croatia. In a city that is 33 kilometers away from Tirana with about a hundred thousand inhabitants, you can find absolutely everything.

Bosnian restaurants and hotels that are adapted exclusively for us, and prices lower than in Ferhadija. Ćevapi 6 KM, coffee 1 KM, juice 2 KM, beer 2 KM, burek 2 KM, and on beaches without crowds, more and more people from Sarajevo, Goražde, Tuzla... You can save a lot on accommodation compared to our neighbors, the Croats.

3-star hotels located right on the beach for two people with breakfast cost 35 euros, and private accommodation is 5-15 euros per person. On beaches without crowds, which is a bit unusual for us, but we got used to the lack of noise and pressure cookers, although it took time. Durrës is a city that is being built every day. New hotels, restaurants, but also more and more tourists occupy the restaurants and promenades 24 hours a day.

However, a big minus for this destination is the road to the Adriatic coast in Albania, which is truly just that. The drive is no less than 10 hours, both due to the distance and the poor roads through eastern Bosnia, and then the traffic jams through Albanian cities. It's not so much the traffic of cars or people who don't respect signs or any rules, as it is the careless cyclists, but also the "crazy" cows that are the biggest danger and that seem to be just waiting to fall off the road.

However, the sandy beaches, great weather, affordable prices, and incredible accommodation for little money will surely bring us back to this city. We let the colorful Albanians know to learn a few words of Bosnian, and especially English, because sometimes they pretend not to understand anything, just like the English. For those who are late with their vacation and want to avoid the crowds of the Adriatic, Durrës is the place for it.
