Damage assessment from earthquake that shook Zenica and surrounding areas last night

(Patria) - Four injured persons, two of whom are receiving treatment at the Cantonal Hospital Zenica, as well as several damaged houses in the Zenica settlements of Ljubetovo, Hece and Vranduk, and damage to facades in the city itself, are the toll of last night's earthquake with its epicenter near Zenica, which hit Bosnia and Herzegovina at 9:43 PM.

According to data released by the duty officer at the Operational Center of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration of Zenica-Doboj Canton, after the police investigation due to damage to two vehicles, stones that had fallen onto the M-17 main road, between two tunnels in the settlement of Vranduk near Zenica, were cleared after midnight.

-We expect a report from the Civil Protection of the City of Zenica, whose team will go to the field and record the damage in the settlement of Ljubetovo, where the collapse of roof tiles from houses, a retaining wall, and cracks in the walls and ceilings of some older houses were reported last night.

According to information so far, five to six houses were damaged in Ljubetovo, but we are still awaiting a complete report. We received a report of damage to two more houses in the settlement of Hece and one house in Vranduk, said the duty officer at the Operational Center of the City of Zenica Civil Protection.

Damage to two vehicles was reported due to the rockslide on the M-17 main road, which caused a complete traffic standstill and rerouting via an alternative route, the regional road through the settlement of Tetovo-Banlozi-Vranduk to Nemila.

The injured person due to the rockslide in Vranduk, as well as another person who sustained injuries, are receiving treatment at the Cantonal Hospital Zenica, while two other persons, who received assistance at the Zenica Emergency Service, were released home.

The epicenter of the earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale, was located about 13 kilometers north of Zenica and at a depth of nine kilometers.
