(Patria) - Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center Emir Suljagić refused to give a statement at the Zvornik Police Administration today without the presence of a lawyer. As he announced on network X, he will reappear next week accompanied by his lawyers.
"As I was leaving, an RTRS journalist approached me, but I refused to speak with them. I let them know that I do not wish to engage with media that deny genocide and promote war," Suljagić wrote on X.
I just left the Zvornik Police Headquarters, having refused to be questioned without my lawyers present. We agreed to reconvene next week. As I was leaving, an @RTRSvijesti reporter approached me, but I refused to speak with them. I make it a point not to engage with media…

The representative of the Party of Democratic Action in the National Assembly of the RS entity and vice-president of this party announced that he was recently questioned by the MUP of the RS. He was invited under false pretenses!
"A few weeks ago, I received an invitation to report to the police station in Srebrenica to give a statement as a witness. When I came to give the statement, I was informed that a criminal complaint had been filed against me for spreading religious and national hatred. As with many other unpleasantries, I felt it was not necessary to disturb the already burdened public and Bosniaks in this entity because of the complaint against me. I am stating this after a series of pressures and complaints against Bosniaks, and prompted by the invitation I received today from Prijedor," Salkić announced.
He says it is quite certain that a new phase of pressure on Bosniaks is beginning, using the system to create a sense of insecurity with the aim of making Bosniaks give up.
"It is clear that those who have decided to be on the path of fighting for their homes, truth, justice, and homeland will be under increased pressure, even though the pressure so far has been almost unbearable. The dilemma remains as to how long those who are under constant repression and various types of pressure can endure without any reaction.
Because of all this, I call on the competent state authorities to take concrete action to stop these phenomena that further endanger the trust of Bosniaks in the existence of legal and all other security," Salkić further stated.
He specifically emphasized that the OHR and the High Representative, as well as the international armed forces, are tasked under the Dayton Peace Agreement to guarantee the right of displaced persons to return to a safe environment without discrimination".
"This key and fundamental condition for signing the Dayton Peace Agreement has never been implemented in the intended way, as evidenced by numerous murders, attacks, interrogations, and systemic discrimination against Bosniaks.
This new wave of pressure comes at a very sensitive time of clearly expressed aspirations and attacks on the Dayton Peace Agreement before and after the adoption of the declaration of the Serbian Assembly, which should further concern all those who care about future peace," emphasizes the SDA vice-president and representative in the RS National Assembly.
"Therefore, swift and concrete action is necessary to stop the pressure on Bosniaks through fabricated reports, investigations, and interrogations for expressing their views, fighting for truth, and seeking justice for those who are endangered and discriminated against in this entity," he concluded.
Yesterday, also under false pretenses, Emsud Brdar was taken to the Prijedor police. The police officers who came to his house in the village of Zecovi, where more than 150 Bosniaks were killed in 1992, including Brdar's closest relatives, did not present him with any warrant. He only received it at the end of the interrogation.
