Suljagić: I am deeply concerned about the Prosecutor's Office's actions, this is an attack on the truth about Srebrenica and the genocide

(Patria) - Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center Emir Suljagić issued an official press statement after being questioned by SIPA this morning in his capacity as Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center.

He states that he is deeply concerned about the unjustified questioning he faced this morning at the state police agency.

"It is unheard of that I am subjected to baseless accusations of inciting hatred, especially when it is evident that the real agenda is the criminalization of commemorating the memory of Srebrenica and the genocide in BiH.

It is clear that the Prosecutor's Office is trying to silence those of us who advocate for preserving the memory of the horrific events that occurred in Srebrenica and throughout Bosnia. This blatant attack on our efforts to remember and honor the victims is not only an attack on our freedom of speech but also a deliberate distortion of historical truth.

The very essence of justice is being undermined by these actions, and it is imperative that we expose and resist any attempt to suppress the truth about Srebrenica and the genocide in Bosnia. We cannot allow the memory of innocent lives lost to be distorted or manipulated for political gain.

I call on the international community to join me in condemning these unbelievable attempts to silence those who wish to commemorate the victims and seek justice for the crimes committed. Our determination to preserve the memory of the victims and ensure that such crimes are never forgotten must remain unwavering, despite such unjust challenges," Suljagić stated.
