Šulić from SNSD elected Vice-President of the RS National Assembly from the Bosniak constituent

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Denis Šulić from the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) was elected tonight as the Vice-President of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska (NSRS) from the Bosniak constituent. 50 deputies voted for Šulić, two were against, and six abstained.

Deputy of the "Together for BiH" Parliamentary Group, Begija Smajić, stated in her address to the NSRS that Denis Šulić does not have the legitimacy of the Bosniak people and that his appointment is another form of discrimination against Bosniaks.

"We do not want to count anyone's blood cells, but during more than a year of our mandate in the entity parliament, Šulić has not shown that he represents the politics and views of Bosniaks living in the RS entity. He has blatantly represented and presented the policy of SNSD, which in no way relates to the protection of the rights of Bosniaks living in these areas."

We remind you that Senad Bratić from SDA held this position, who was dismissed in September 2019 under the accusation that, as a member of SDA, he "implements policies against the interests of the Republika Srpska".

Deputies adopted amendments to the Law on Strikes, as well as draft laws on the protection of the right to a trial within a reasonable time and on mediation in real estate transactions, while amendments to the law on labor relations in state bodies and on the status of local self-government officials, which were intended to abolish the "white bread" privilege for officials in the RS to receive a salary for six months after the end of their term, did not receive support.
