(Patria) - The County Court in Split has issued a decision rejecting detention for extradition based on an international warrant for the current deputy director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), confirmed for BHRT by his lawyer Ivana Grizelj Ćorluka.
As learned from the conversation with the lawyer, Galić voluntarily reported to the local police, after which a hearing was held yesterday seeking his extradition to BiH.
So for now, there are no measures, nor detention, nor extradition, said Grizelj Ćorluka.
A warrant for him was issued by Interpol Sarajevo based on an order from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a request from the Prosecutor's Office of BiH dated August 8.
Galić holds Croatian citizenship.
He is suspected of organized crime and abuse of position.
His lawyer claims that Galić is currently undergoing treatment in Croatia and that he has submitted all relevant documentation justifying his stay in Croatia.
Galić submitted valid documentation from Croatia to his Health Center in Posušje, as well as to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and SIPA, and all of them, as she claims, have been in possession of that documentation from the first day.
