Mostar Court Confirms Lasić's Arrogance: Olovčić Must Be Reinstated, Will Nikšić and the Government React Now!

By: A. Čorbo-Zećo

Jasmina Olovčić, an employee of Autoceste FBiH, is one of those who faced problems after the arrival of the new director Denis Lasić (HDZ BiH), and who sought and won justice in court.

Namely, the judgment of the Municipal Court in Mostar annuls the termination of the employment contract issued on July 21, 2023.

Thus, Autoceste is obliged to reinstate Jasmina Olovčić in employment based on the contract from May 24, 2023.

Olovčić confirmed to Patria that she received the verdict, and now it remains to be seen in the next 30 days what Autoceste will undertake.

We remind you that employees of Autoceste testified for the Patria News Agency that after the political dismissal of the Management of Autoceste and the appointment of a new one, led by director Denis Lasić, in May 2023, mobbing directed at Olovčić began, all because of her job position.

In various ways, in writing and orally, without valid reasons, they tried to obtain confidential and sensitive information from all proceedings that Olovčić conducted.

Since they could not obtain the requested data and information, for the proceedings that had already been completed, apart from the basic ones, a report for initiating disciplinary proceedings followed in June, and director Denis Lasić transferred all the jobs that she performed as Head of Department to Katica Vranjković. At that time, her official email was also revoked, and access to the office and documentation was restricted.

The decision to terminate the employment contract for the position of "Head of the Procurement Department for International Procedures", due to a serious breach of labor discipline – "Providing incorrect data, which could affect poor business decisions of the Management of JP Autoceste FBiH" – was delivered to her on 07/21/2023. The Court in Mostar has now annulled that decision, and it is completely clear that the accusations against her were unfounded.

We remind you that Lasić then engaged a person on a work contract for one year (again violating the provisions of the Rulebook and the Labor Law), who performed the tasks of evaluating bids for open international procurement procedures with EBRD and EIB, without being appointed to the evaluation committees; has access to electronic and physical documentation; has access to the EBRD electronic procurement system, etc.

None of this prompted the FBiH Government to react in time, even though Olovčić publicly spoke about the problems to the media.

Whether Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić and the relevant ministry will react now remains to be seen very soon, as the deadline for implementing the verdict is 15 days.
