Court Fines KCUS and Dr. Izetbegović for Not Reinstating Professor Dizdarević

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Municipal Court in Sarajevo fined the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS) 1,000 KM and Dr. Sebija Izetbegović, Director General of KCUS, 500 KM after the Court's decision ordering neurosurgeon Kemal Dizdarević to be reinstated to his position was not respected.

The Court's Decision states that if KCUS and Dr. Izetbegović do not pay the fines within eight days, the Court will enforce payment, reports Patria agency.

Dizdarević was dismissed from KCUS at the end of October last year, following public criticism of the policies of KCUS Director General Dr. Sebija Izetbegović.
The Municipal Court in Sarajevo subsequently issued a decision in mid-February ordering Professor Dizdarević's return to KCUS, but the court's decision has not been honored to date.

"A security measure is imposed, ordering the opponent of the proposer to immediately enable Kemal Dizdarević to work based on an indefinite employment contract. This security measure remains in force until the decision on the lawsuit becomes final, and the measures will be implemented by the Municipal Court of Sarajevo," it was stated at the time in the Court's Decision.

Prof. Dr. Kemal Dizdarević is a specialist neurosurgeon and subspecialist in cerebrovascular surgery at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. He is the author of several books and scientific papers.
