Court of BiH issues international arrest warrants for Dodik and Stevandić

(Patria) - The Court of BiH has issued international arrest warrants for the president of RS Milorad Dodik and the head of the National Assembly of RS Nenad Stevandić.

The warrants have been entered into the Interpol system. Confirmation from the General Secretariat of Europol in Lyon is currently awaited.

The Interpol office in Sarajevo entered the international arrest warrants into the system after the Court of BiH issued them. The information was released to the public by Serbian authorities and reported by Serbian media.

Istraga.ba contacted officials in BiH, but none of them wished to confirm the information.

These warrants are, in effect, not active. Only individuals working at Interpol contact points can see them.

States are not permitted to act on these warrants until Lyon formally approves their issuance.

The warrants state that the named individuals are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia.

Dodik and Stevandić are sought for criminal prosecution for the commission of the criminal offense of "Attack on the constitutional order" under Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to Politika.rs, the international arrest warrants were initiated for the territories of all member states and as such have reached Interpol's system for all members.

Interpol Belgrade received the international arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik at 10:20 PM and for Nenad Stevandić at 10:28 PM.
