Court of BiH confirms indictment against Milan Jevtić and others for crimes against Bosniaks of the protected enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa

(Patria) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed the indictment in the case of Milan Jevtić and others, who are charged with the criminal offense of crimes against humanity against Bosniak civilians of the Protected Enclave of Srebrenica and Žepa.

In addition to Jevtić, the accused are Rajko Čalmić, Ostoja Perišić, and Dejan Milanović.

The accused are, among other things, charged with, as part of a widespread and systematic attack directed against the civilian Bosniak population of the Protected Enclave of Srebrenica and Žepa, knowing of such an attack and that their actions constituted part of that attack, acting with the intent to discriminate against the group of Bosniaks, from the beginning of July to the end of August 1995, committing persecution on national, ethnic, and religious grounds, by depriving captured Bosniak men of their lives.

According to the indictment, Rajko Čalmić and Ostoja Perišić, together with other members of the 1st Milićka Infantry Brigade of the VRS, on an unspecified day in July 1995, and upon the order of the accused Milan Jevtić, deprived of life (executed) 31 civilians of Bosniak nationality who had previously been captured, whose remains were subsequently found and identified.

Furthermore, the accused Dejan Milanović is charged with, on an unspecified date in July 1995, in the place of Brežanci, while serving as a soldier-cook, in a facility belonging to the 1st Battalion of the 1st Milićka Infantry Brigade of the VRS, commanded by Milan Jevtić, shooting from close range and depriving of life one captured civilian of Bosniak nationality, the Court of BiH announced.
