The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina expresses deep concern over the atmosphere created in the public in recent days, which seeks to politicize this institution and degrade the work of its judges. Judges of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina are currently working under difficult conditions, as the intensity of pressures coming from multiple sides is beginning to exceed the limits of tolerance, the Court of BiH announced, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.
- We once again appeal to all those who, in recent days, have dared to make unfounded and baseless accusations against the work of the Court of BiH to refrain from inappropriate comments that cause great harm to both the judiciary and society and the state in general. The citizens of our country, in light of recent events, have no reason for concern, as judicial institutions at the state level are merely doing their job within their jurisdiction. The daily pressures, political, media, academic, as well as those from legal teams, which have been abundant these days, in no way contribute to our country's efforts to finally embark on the path of a modern European country where everyone can do their job without hindrance.
Therefore, we again ask those from various segments of society who unfoundedly consider themselves competent to comment on the work of the state judiciary to refrain from interfering in our work, which entails the enforcement of the laws of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Furthermore, the pressure exerted on the Court of BiH regarding the Naser Orić case is completely unacceptable and must cease immediately. It is extremely difficult to work under conditions where such open attempts are made to influence the Court. We appeal to the Association of Mothers of Srebrenica, which seeks an acquittal, as well as to those seeking a conviction, to operate within the framework of their associations and not to interfere in the work of the judiciary. This also applies to the Green Berets Association, the RVI Association, and the Association of Camp Detainees of the Birač Region, which, on the other hand, seeks an expansion of the indictment. This type of pressure is inadmissible and completely unnecessary, as it can in no way affect the course of the proceedings themselves.
Finally, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not an institution that succumbs to pressure, as our decade of work has shown. Judges of the Court of BiH work under difficult conditions, but they have not and will not yield to anyone's interests. We continue to work at full capacity, and we demand that the competent authorities enable us to work under normal conditions.
