Electricity hits pool full of children, 26 injured

A total of 29 people, including 26 children, were injured and transported to hospitals when electricity hit a pool full of children and swimmers last night at the Jordan camp in northern Czech Republic, reports the Patria News Agency.

-The injuries are not serious, there were no unconscious people, these were reactions to the electric shock, certainly no cardiac arrest or anything similar. Eight children experienced subjective difficulties, a tingling sensation in their arms, Petr Bureš, spokesperson for the North Bohemian Emergency Service, told Pravo today.

According to initial findings, water somehow penetrated to the electrical wiring, and the police are investigating whether it was a malfunction, spokeswoman for the local police, Šárka Poláčková, told the media.

Czech Republic has been hit by a wave of tropical heat exceeding 37 degrees Celsius in recent days, and Czechs have massively sought refuge from the heat on beaches and at swimming pools.
