"Scary Mother" wins at the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival

At the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival, the Heart of Sarajevo awards were presented in all competition categories at a ceremony held at the National Theatre in Sarajevo.

The jury, consisting of Michel Franco, Mark Adams, Goran Bogdan, Fatma Al Rmaihi, and Melisa Sozen, decided to award the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Film to "Scary Mother". This film, directed by Ana Urushadze, is a Georgian-Estonian co-production. 

Ornela Kapetani was named Best Actress at the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival for her role in the film "Daybreak".

The award for Best Actor went to Serban Pavlu for his role in the film "Meda, or not so bright side of things", and for the same film, Emanuel Parvu was awarded Best Director at the 23rd SFF.

The short film "Into The Blue" by Alamat Kusijanović was named Best Short Film.

The film "Purity" by Neven Samardžić was declared the best student film, and Rati Oneli received the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Documentary Film for "City Of The Sun".

It is worth noting that tonight, starting at 8:30 PM, the film The Big Sick was also screened at the Open Air cinema Metalac, and the program of the 23rd SFF concludes tomorrow, when all award-winning films will be shown, along with the blockbuster Baby Driver at Metalac. 

As part of the 18 programs of the 23rd SFF, the audience had the opportunity over the past seven days to watch 235 films, including 111 feature-length and 124 short films, 137 fiction, 70 documentary, and 28 animated films. This year, 46 films competed for awards in all regional selections of the SFF.

The teams of competition films from all categories walked the red carpet before the awards ceremony.
