Parties Forming State Government Have Not Scheduled New Meeting, and There Is No Budget

(Patria) - The state coalition consisting of SNSD, HDZ BiH, and the "Trojka" parties (SDP, NIP, Naša stranka), after the failed meeting on May 13th, was supposed to hold a new meeting within seven days. However, this did not happen, and there is no official date for when a new meeting might take place.

Minister of Transport and Communications Edin Forto, and the president of Naša stranka, stated on Monday as a guest on BHRT that he does not know the date of the new meeting.

He confirmed that he also does not know when the budget of BiH institutions for 2024 will be presented to the Council of Ministers of BiH.

After the fiasco of the last meeting, the most concrete statement came from the president of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, who clearly conditioned the Budget on the distribution of funds from the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) accounts for special road tolls and funds from the Communications Regulatory Agency (RAK) accounts. Given that Republika Srpska has financial difficulties, it is clear why Dodik insists on the distribution of this money. It amounts to hundreds of millions of marks.

The Minister of Finance and Treasury and SNSD official Srđan Amidžić has not yet prepared a Draft Budget that could proceed to further procedure, and the second decision on temporary financing expires at the end of June.

On the other hand, the authorities of Republika Srpska are now dealing with local elections, specifically whether they will participate in the elections, given that the amendments to the Election Law of BiH were imposed by the High Representative Christian Schmidt.

On Thursday, the UN General Assembly is expected to adopt the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica, and Dodik has stated that after the adoption of that resolution, "things will change in BiH."

On Wednesday, a session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) will be held, where the issue of the Srebrenica resolution will also be discussed.
