Parties without agreement in Srebrenica: Fejzić runs as independent candidate for mayor

(Patria) - Given that we are in a difficult political situation, as a responsible person who has dedicated most of his life to political engagement in Srebrenica, I am aware of the fact that Srebrenica represents the most important political and moral issue for us Bosniaks, said Hamdija Fejzić in a statement.

"Due to petty, personal and narrow party interests, we were unable to reach an agreement in Srebrenica on a joint candidate for mayor in the upcoming local elections. Aware of the moment and the situation we find ourselves in, as a politically responsible and experienced person, and after consultations and discussions with many residents of Srebrenica, representatives of associations/organizations, I hereby inform the public and citizens of Srebrenica that I have made the decision to run in the elections as an INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SREBRENICA.

I once again warn all political actors to think again because a difficult political struggle lies ahead, as this is not a time for political frivolity and inexperience.

I thank everyone, both political parties and associations/organizations and individuals, for their support so far.

I call on political leaders not to gamble with Srebrenica politically or morally, and I invite them to support my candidacy as an independent candidate for mayor of the municipality of Srebrenica," said Fejzić.
