Party for BiH: FBiH Government is not interested in airport development, but in fulfilling foreign wishes

(Patria) - The Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina (SBiH), regarding the dismissal of the management of Sarajevo International Airport, demands that Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić reveal the real reasons for this decision, which were opposed by the Trade Union and the employees of this public company.

"It is shameless that those who perform their duties responsibly and dedicatedly, as confirmed by their results, are dismissed. The only "sin" of the management, led by director Alan Bajić and executive director Samra Pehilj, is their commitment to the development of this company, reflected in the record number of passengers and flights, expansion of capacities, and better conditions for both passengers and employees. A particular success is the modernization of Terminal B, which can accommodate twice the number of passengers compared to its previous capacity, and the technical improvement of the airport infrastructure.

The dismissed management is not only the "creator of miracles" but has done everything to make Sarajevo International Airport a shining example of successful business operations, which has gone through numerous phases of expansion and modernization since its post-war recovery to this day. Thus, it has become one of the key aviation centers in the region, keeping pace with all European and global achievements in civil aviation, adapting its operations and complete infrastructure to the requirements of domestic and international regulations, and has prerequisites for development in the future.

There has long been a saying that "the devil is in the details." Judging by all that has been stated, this Government is not interested in the development of the airport, better services for citizens and tourists, nor responsible work, but in party interests to remain in power.

Knowing that this issue has been "brewing" for a long time in the "Trojka's" kitchen, over which foreigners who put them in power have control, and who have publicly shown interest in giving Sarajevo Airport to a foreign company under concession, everything points to an illegal and unlawful dismissal, which investigative bodies should address. We call on the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to stop the destruction of this successful public company, which is a shining example for the BiH economy," stated the Party for BiH.
