Party of BiH: 'New negotiators' failed the test of political maturity with failed meeting in Mostar

(Patria) - The Presidency of the Party of BiH held its 21st regular session in Sarajevo yesterday, discussing numerous current topics.

After the discussion, the following set of conclusions was adopted:

1. The Presidency of the Party of BiH is closely monitoring the conduct of the ruling coalition Trojka - SNSD - HDZ, and the failed meeting in Mostar, which is just one in a series since the elections, clearly shows that the "new negotiators" have failed the test of political maturity.

At a time when BiH needs to make key moves on its European path, given the deadline set for March, the state-level coalition has not reached an agreement on two key laws that are prerequisites for opening BiH's accession negotiations with the EU (Law on Courts of BiH, Law on Conflict of Interest).

Although they have completely abandoned the discussion about NATO integration, reducing all discussion to EU integration, it has become completely clear that this process has ended in complete failure.

2. The Party of BiH will participate in the adoption of all laws at the state level that are exclusively in the interest of BiH, but will also oppose the adoption of laws that are harmful to BiH.

We warn that the adoption of the Law on Courts of BiH must not reduce their jurisdiction by lowering it to the entities, and that the Law should be adopted in a way that respects the recommendations of the Venice Commission.

The Party of BiH does not support the idea and proposal of the Trojka parties to locate the seat of the Appellate Court of BiH in Istočno Sarajevo, given that plaques in memory of war criminal Ratko Mladić are located there, as this sends a message that this is an acceptable practice.

3. The Municipal Board of the Party of BiH Srebrenica unanimously adopted the proposal that the candidate for the Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality be Master of Law Faruk Đozić.

He is a permanent resident with his family in Srebrenica, and a father of three children. In the mandate period 2018-2022, he was a delegate in the Council of Peoples of the RS entity.

The Presidency of the Party of BiH has given its full support to the aforementioned proposal and calls on other political subjects to reach an agreement to support Faruk Đozić as a joint candidate for the Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality.

The activities being carried out in the MZ Osatica in the municipality of Srebrenica, where an Orthodox church is being built near the memorial to martyrs, even though there are no Orthodox residents there, represent a new provocation for returnees.

The Party of BiH stands with the citizens who are leading this fight and calls on the institutions and the High Representative to prevent new inter-ethnic tensions by halting all further actions.
