Party of BiH and DF Accept SDA's Invitation: Monday Meeting of Cantonal Organizations on Upcoming Local Elections

(Patria) - Head of the SDA Sarajevo Cantonal Board, Faruk Kapidžić, announced a meeting for next Monday with representatives of DF and the Party of BiH from Sarajevo Canton.

"Representatives of the DF Cantonal Board and SBiH Cantonal Board responded. I invited them and they confirmed their arrival for Monday at the SDA cantonal premises, where we will begin discussions on my desire and primary goal to form a 'Trojka' against the 'Trojka'," Kapidžić told N1 on Wednesday.

The President of the SBiH Cantonal Council, Almir Bečarević, told Patria that they received the invitation and will participate in the tripartite meeting on Monday, April 15, 2024.

"The topic of the meeting is the joint appearance of these parties in the 2024 local elections. This is the first meeting of these parties on the topic of local elections. SBiH wants, and that is why we responded to this invitation, to explore possible directions of action in the local elections through the prism of possible cooperation, and to hear how the cantonal boards of SDA and DF think about this issue," he said.

Commenting on the statement that a "trojka against trojka" is being formed, Bečarević rejected this idea.

"Perhaps it is a bit pretentious to call this cooperation Trojka 2 right from the start, because SBiH does not want the word 'Trojka' to be used in any way in this cooperation, should it come to cooperation and joint appearance. We are currently living under the rule of parties united under the name 'Trojka', which promised everything other than what they are doing.

Sarajevo Canton has been devastated, in terms of personnel, material resources, investments, and in every other way, and the name 'Trojka' itself is not something that should be built upon, but rather it is a synonym for failure, and therefore we will ask our partners for 'Trojka' to be our target of what not to do, rather than adding the number 2," says Bečarević.

SBiH has expressed its position that cooperation with DF could be supported through party bodies, and further cooperation with SDA will be subject to decisions by party bodies after the meetings of these parties in the coming period.
