Hundreds of worshippers performed Friday prayer on Igman

Hundreds of worshippers performed Friday prayer on the plateau in front of the mosque on Mount Igman, as part of the event "Defence of BiH - Igman 2014", reports a reporter from the Bosnian-Herzegovinian news agency Patria (NAP).

During the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mount Igman was the only route through which Sarajevo could be reached, which is why one of the main goals of the Army of Republika Srpska during the aggression was to capture Igman and thus completely blockade the capital of BiH.

The fall of Igman would mean the fall of Sarajevo, that is, the fall of the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes NAP.

The Sarajevo Canton is the organiser of the event "Defence of BiH – Igman 2014" in financial and every other sense, while the patrons are members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović and Željko Komšić.

The central event will be held at 4:00 PM when a ceremonial parade of veterans of units of the First Corps of the ARBiH - Igman Veliko Polje is planned.
