Hundreds of miners in front of the FBiH Government building

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Miners from all over the Federation gathered in front of the building of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, blocking the road. About 600 miners arrived in about ten buses.

The miners' protests came after warnings about the poor conditions in the mines in Zenica and Breza, and dissatisfaction culminated last week, after the FBiH Tax Administration sent final enforcement decisions due to contributions debt of nearly 14 million KM. This jeopardizes the payment of miners' salaries, and the Zenica miners stopped production on Friday.

The miners are chanting: "Thieves", "We are all Zenica".

The miners are seeking a solution from the FBiH Government, specifically from the relevant minister Nermin Džindić and JP "Elektroprivreda BiH". They say they have no time to wait, and the president of the FBiH Miners' Union, Sinan Husić, is also in front of the Government building. A meeting between representatives of the miners and the FBiH Government is expected at 12 PM.

The decision is that a general strike will begin in both mines on September 13 if the situation is not resolved.
