Hundreds of businessmen and employers gathered in front of the FBiH Government, traffic blocked

(Patria) - Several hundred businessmen from FBiH gathered in front of the building of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to the FBiH Government's decision on a minimum wage of 1,000 KM, without any measures to relieve the economy. The decision has been in effect since January 1st. Traffic in this street is also blocked. Owners of crafts and companies arrived from Sarajevo, Zenica, Gračanica, Kalesija...

Employers point out that it is not a problem for them to give workers a salary of 1,000 KM, but that the Government should also give up part of the contributions. For a salary of 1,000 KM, the total employer's burden is 1,740 KM.

The Economic and Social Council is also holding a session in the FBiH Government building today, after which it will be known what measures the Government has proposed to help employers.

The Proposed Budget of FBiH for 2025 envisages subsidies for small and medium-sized enterprises in the amount of 100 million KM for a part of the contributions. However, the first payments are expected only at the beginning of April, as announced at the press conference of the FBiH Government on January 8th.

At this moment, there is no indication that the Government will go with the measure of reducing contributions on the minimum wage, and fiscal reform is expected to come into effect only from the beginning of 2026.
