Stop vandalism in public city transport vehicles

(Patria) - Members of the forum gradskiprevoz.org strongly condemn the destruction of public city transport vehicles in Sarajevo. This time, the targets of vandals were buses that, due to the procurement of LPG buses, were withdrawn from commercial lines and included in regular scheduled lines. One example is a GRAS vehicle, which was withdrawn from a commercial line, thanks to the crew that maintained it, with an interior like new, but after only a few days of service on lines 28 and 33, the said vehicle suffered graffiti and tearing of upholstery.

What is particularly concerning is the fact that no one is held accountable for vandalism in public city transport vehicles, and they should be, primarily because these vehicles are not purchased by any government from its own pocket, but from the budget filled by citizens. So, vandals destroy citizens' property, and citizens remain silent and unaffected.

Every day we witness migrants literally destroying GRAS vehicles by breaking doors, even though in visible places, especially on newly acquired buses, a warning in English is prominently displayed that the vehicle cannot move if the doors are damaged.

"Yes, our parks and public city transport are our mirror, a mirror of our culture, which we all obviously lack. We hereby appeal to all citizens to take care of public city transport vehicles bought with OUR money, because only then can we have safe and comfortable transport," it is stated, among other things, in the appeal to citizens of the Sarajevo Canton by members of the forum Gradskiprevoz.org, adding that as young people, in the coming period, they will try to get in touch with people in GRAS to clean one bus as an example to other young people, as a sign of stopping vandalism in vehicles.
