Stjepan Mesić visited the Old Town in Srebrenik

The Mayor of Tuzla, Jasmin Imamović, met with the former President of the Republic of Croatia and honorary citizen of Tuzla, Stjepan Mesić, his associates, and friends, writes the Patria agency.

As part of the meeting, the former President of the Republic of Croatia and Imamović visited the Old Town in Srebrenik, one of the symbols of the continuity of Bosnian-Herzegovinian statehood, a medieval fortress, which was the seat of, among others, the Bosnian Ban Stjepan II Kotromanić and his successor and the first Bosnian King Tvrtko I Kotromanić.

Mesić has been an honorary citizen of Tuzla since October 2015, when he received this recognition on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of Tuzla.

- Tuzla has preserved its foundation, tolerance, and absence of separation on any basis in the most difficult moments. Coexistence in tolerance is the only way out of the vortex and mutual hatred into which wars have thrown us - Mesić said on this occasion.
