We have seen that stupidity and arrogance have no end in Bosnia and Herzegovina after a journalism graduate contacted us who recently applied for a civil servant position in the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, writes the Patria News Agency.
The competition is conducted by the Civil Service Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CSA FBiH), headed by SDA cadre Sead Maslo, and the announcement of the competition was requested by the Minister of Transport in Sarajevo Canton, Jusuf Bubica.
Minister Bubica, although he only has days left in his ministerial seat, is looking for an information officer.
Perhaps that is not such a big problem, had Bubica not demanded from the CSA that this future information officer must meet the following conditions: they must have graduated from law school or a public administration faculty. You read that correctly: law school or a public administration faculty.
Our fellow citizen who contacted us, without looking too closely at the conditions that candidates must meet for the position of information officer, applied for the competition.
Thinking, as is perhaps logical, that he, as a journalism graduate, was a contender for that position. But, that is not the case. He was informed by the CSA FBiH that he does not meet the competition requirements because he has neither graduated from a public administration faculty nor a law faculty.
What could be behind all this? It is clear to anyone who has even a slight understanding of how to get a job in civil service that this is another example of party-nepotism-friendship deals. It is obvious that Bubica has already promised the position of information officer to someone. We have some information about who, but until we verify it, we will not mention the name. Bubica is neither the first nor the last to "repay debts" by employing someone's child, relative, spouse, brother-in-law, buddy...
However, the role of the CSA FBiH in this story is surprising. Because the CSA has a history of competitions looking for information officers, and in all those competitions, journalism graduates could also apply.
Why, in the case of the competition for the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, Director Maslo did not demand that journalism graduates be included in the competition requirements alongside law and public administration graduates, remains a mystery. But not for long. Because, as we have emphasized, our journalistic team is investigating this scandalous example of arrogance and usurpation of authority and powers by both Minister Bubica and Director Maslo.
