Štilić led Željezničar to a big derby win

(Patria) - The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina remained blue after tonight's 140th Sarajevo derby! FK Željezničar's players defeated their fierce city rivals, FK Sarajevo, at Košev, for the second time this season, and the 'Plavi' (Blues) once again celebrated after a comeback. This time it was 3:1, and Amar Osim's team returned to the top of the table.

The city rivals now have the same number of points, but the 'Plavi' have a better goal difference.

The man of the match in this derby was definitely Semir Štilić. The fantastic midfielder of the 'Plavi' gave the opposing players a headache, scoring the first and third goals for the 'Plavi', and assisting Sulejman Krpić's goal.

The derby started very fiercely, with several fouls in the first few minutes, which prevented either team from developing their passing game, writes scsport.ba.

FK Željezničar had possession of the ball more in the first ten minutes, but in the 12th minute, FK Sarajevo launched an attack that resulted in the first goal of the match.

Rahmanović and Hodžić combined on the left side, and the latter crossed the ball into the penalty area, where Ahmetović, with a phenomenal body feint, beat Osmanković and then found the net past Kjosevski to make it 1:0.

This did not shake FK Željezničar too much, as they threatened seriously just two minutes later through Štilić, whose shot went over the bar.

The fantastic midfielder of the 'Plavi' was more accurate in the 29th minute. A free kick was awarded to FK Željezničar from 20 meters, Štilić placed the ball and masterfully struck it into the goalkeeper's corner to equalize at 1:1.

The first half continued with very aggressive play, and referee Kaljanac showed a large number of yellow cards, as many as eight in the first half...

FK Željezničar could not have wished for a better start to the second half, as they took the lead in the 47th minute, with another brilliant move by the incredible Štilić.

He brilliantly got rid of two defenders on the left side, crossed to the far post, where Krpić was ready to receive the ball and score to make it 1:2.

After that, the game was mostly played in midfield, which suited Amar Osim's team, and FK Sarajevo had their first chance in the second half through Ahmetović in the 59th minute.

He advanced towards Kjosevski from an angle, but Kjosevski brilliantly closed down the angle and saved his attempt.

Oremuš missed a great chance in the 64th minute; he rounded Kjosevski but then missed an open goal from an angle...

FK Željezničar punished Oremuš's miss, and Semir Štilić was once again the protagonist. In the 69th minute, he brilliantly set up Veselinović, putting him one-on-one with Džafić, before Hodžić fouled him, resulting in a penalty.

Štilić took responsibility and scored his second goal of the match, giving them a significant 1:3 lead.

From that moment on, FK Sarajevo could not seriously threaten Kjosevski's goal, and in the 83rd minute, there was a controversial situation in the penalty area of the 'bordo' (burgundy) team, when Veselinović appealed for a penalty after a duel with Lazić. Kaljanac waved it away.

In the 88th minute, FK Sarajevo were also reduced to ten men on the field, as Šerbečić stopped a counter-attack by the 'Plavi' and received his second yellow card.

The match ended 1:3, and FK Željezničar secured a big victory that returns them to the top of the table, one round before the end of the autumn part of the season.

In the last round of this part of the season, FK Sarajevo will visit Zvijezda 09, while the 'Plavi' will host Velež.
