Our Dearest Guest Has Arrived - The Month of Ramadan

(Patria) - According to the Calendar of the Islamic Community in BiH, with tonight's sunset, the month of Ramadan has begun, the most distinguished month of the year - the month of Revelation and God's greatest mercy. Tonight, the first tarawih prayer will be performed.

The first day of fasting is on Saturday, March 1st, and according to the Calendar of the Islamic Community, the Eid al-Fitr prayer is on Sunday, March 30th, at 7:12 AM.

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam and a strict obligation for every adult, healthy, and sane Muslim man and woman who is at home, from dawn until sunset.

During fasting, consuming any food or drink, smoking, and marital intimacy are forbidden. Also, those who are fasting should guard against impure thoughts, lustful glances, listening to, and participating in gossip and spreading rumors.

Sadaqah al-Fitr is also associated with Ramadan, an obligation for every adult Muslim man and woman who possesses surplus food during Ramadan after their daily meal.

This obligation applies to the head of the household, who gives Sadaqah al-Fitr for himself and his family members, in accordance with his financial capabilities.

We remind you that the Council of Muftis of the Islamic Community in BiH has decided that the amount of Sadaqah al-Fitr for Ramadan 1446 AH, i.e., 2025, for our country is 12 KM, 15 KM, and 20 KM.

The Riyaset and other organizational units of the Islamic Community will organize numerous religious activities and unique programs during Ramadan to mark significant dates - Laylat al-Badr (Battle of Badr), Fath al-Makkah (Conquest of Mecca), and Laylat al-Qadr, the night when the revelation of the Quran, the last divine revelation, began.
