Denial from Turkey: Claims by Bosnian media that Erdogan intervened in the government formation process in BiH are not true

(Patria) - The Center for Combating Disinformation of the Communications Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey issued a statement today regarding claims by certain Bosnian media about an alleged intervention by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the establishment of government in BiH.

"Claims recently made by certain Bosnian-Herzegovinian media that 'Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intervened in the government formation process' are not true.

Turkey, within the framework of respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina, contributes to the steps taken by monitoring the reform process of Bosnia and Herzegovina and supports the country's integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions (EU and NATO).

Problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina are approached from an impartial perspective that encompasses all segments of society, and with a sincere and constructive attitude.

Turkey is a member of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council, while through its participation in the EUFOR Althea mission it contributes to peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasizes on every occasion that decisions in the country should be made through democratic processes and that interventions contrary to democratic principles should not be allowed in any way.

Claims about Turkey's opposite stance are unfounded," the Center for Combating Disinformation of the Communications Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey stated.
