The noose tightens around Milorad Dodik, banks closing their doors?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Two banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina have decided to ban business with Milorad Dodik, Slobodan Vasković announced on his blog. According to his claims, the reason is that Dodik is on the US "Blacklist", and one of the consequences of this fact is the ban on banks doing business with Dodik. Vasković further states:

Dodik was placed on the US "Blacklist" on January 17, 2017, "because he 'undermines' the Dayton Agreement and poses a threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina."

The ban on business with banks (whose names I do not mention for understandable reasons, although they are known to me) is a new blow to Dodik, after four years of turning a blind eye on this issue.

This blow is symbolic and will not cause material damage to Dodik, but it testifies that pressure on him is increasing due to the continuation of uncivilized rhetoric, autocratic governance, and protection of criminals of all calibers.

Dodik, who after first coming to power (January 2008) was in debt of over a million then-DEM, today is a billionaire who has taken the vast majority of money, acquired through illegal actions, to Russia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and partly to Cyprus.
