(Patria) - He shoved me about ten times, kicked me out of his office by butting his head against my head and pushed me with his body into another room.
That wasn't enough for him, so he kicked me into a third room. In the end, he cursed my mother two or three times and finally said I would remember him.
This is what the Vice-President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Petko Rankić, told "Nezavisne novine", commenting on information that he clashed verbally and physically with the President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, yesterday in the premises of the RS parliament.
Rankić also claims that Stevandić behaved arrogantly from the beginning and that the statements made by the head of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska regarding this event are not true.
"What he is saying, he is lying. I hired a lawyer yesterday, reported everything to the police, and I will not give any more statements because the police have not yet taken statements from all the witnesses who were there. I am also waiting for the prosecutor's office to do its part, and then I will give a final statement," said Rankić.
Stevandić, on the other hand, did not answer our calls, but he did comment on the issue yesterday via his Twitter profile, admitting that he had ordered Rankić to leave his office.
"Today I ordered the Vice-President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Petko Rankić, to leave my office because I interrupted the meeting due to his behavior and obstruction of work. He obeyed after my insistence. 'Sensational information' is being spun, so let the truth be known," Stevandić wrote.
He added that he does not tolerate arrogant people, primitives, and the like.
The Banja Luka Police Administration also commented on the case. Stating the initials, they announced that police officers of the Banja Luka Police Administration are taking measures and actions within their jurisdiction regarding the report filed by P.R. from Bratunac.
"On July 17, 2023, around 1:05 PM, P.R. reported by phone to the Banja Luka Police Administration that he had problems with the President of the National Assembly N.S. in the office of the President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. A statement was taken from the reporting person regarding the circumstances of the event," said the PU Banja Luka.
The duty prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka was also informed about this event, who, as stated by the Banja Luka police, could not determine if there were elements of a criminal offense, and ordered police officers to submit a report on the measures and actions taken to the District Public Prosecutor's Office.
