Stevandić: Special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska as soon as the Government submits the material, can be held within 24 hours

(Patria) - RS will protect its constitutional competencies and institutions from the decisions and actions of the illegitimate High Representative, even if the BiH Court eventually issues a conviction in the proceedings against the President of RS Milorad Dodik and acting Director of the "Official Gazette" Miloš Lukić, claims the Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) Nenad Stevandić.

Addressing reporters in Banja Luka after a session of the NSRS Collegium, Stevandić said that the date for the next special session of the NSRS has not been set, but added that it will be scheduled within 24 hours if the Government of RS submits the necessary material.

- RS will protect its property and other rights within BiH. All our acts in the Assembly will be in accordance with the law and the Constitution - Stevandić assures.

Head of the SNSD Caucus in the NSRS Srđan Mazalica says that a special session will be scheduled if the interests of RS are threatened, adding that the parliamentary Collegium can be convened by phone.

PDP MP Igor Crnadak said that no one, no individual, should be above RS and its interests, while SDS MP Ognjen Bodiroga added that his party will never endanger RS and its status, and that it will pursue responsible national and state policy.

Let us remind you that at last night's meeting of the highest officials and leadership of RS in Banja Luka, it was concluded, among other things, that RS is ready to make radical decisions if the BiH Court issues any verdict in the case against Dodik and Lukić.

Yesterday, the Government of RS requested the NSRS to consider the possibility of permanent sessions so that it could most effectively respond to "potential upcoming harmful consequences for the institutions of RS due to imposed decisions of the illegitimate High Representative, for which proceedings are being conducted before the BiH Court against Dodik and Lukić".

The closing arguments in the proceedings against Dodik and Lukić, who are accused of non-compliance with the decisions of the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt, are scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00 AM before the BiH Court.
