Šteta: Three construction sites in Ilidža ready for the first layer of asphalt

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta, accompanied by his associates, visited road infrastructure construction sites in the municipality of Ilidža.

Three construction sites are ready for the first layer of asphalt. These are the projects: renovation of Osik street, renovation of a section of the road towards Bjelašnica, and the construction of a new road in the Osjek settlement.

- It is busy in the municipality of Ilidža. Various types of projects are being carried out in this municipality, and each of them had its challenges.

Despite bigger and smaller challenges, the projects are being realized, kilometers of sections are being completed, and I am proud that we are leaving lasting values for our citizens - stated Minister Šteta.

Ilidža is gaining a completely new value, as the first layer of asphalt will be laid in the coming days on the newly built road that will connect the Osjek settlement with the center of Ilidža.

The road is 550 meters long, and its construction will connect a completely new unit that will change the quality and standard of life for all residents of Osjek, along with the previously built on-ramp and off-ramp on the western approach to the city.

The construction of this road was an extremely demanding project, but upon its completion, citizens will get a safe and high-quality road with solved drainage, pedestrian paths, complete traffic signaling, and new lighting.

While a new road is being built in Osjek, the existing road in Osik street is being renovated at the same time, and in the coming days, the laying of the first layer of asphalt will begin on a section of the first phase of this significant project.

The project brings with it various challenges and is being implemented in phases, and with the completion of each phase, the daily lives of the residents of this settlement will be greatly improved, considering that it is a road used by public transport, and along its route are a school, post office, markets, and other important facilities that people need.

On the section of the road towards Bjelašnica, which is also located in the Ilidža municipality, the laying of the first layer of asphalt will begin in the coming days over a length of 300 meters. This is part of a previously signed contract for the renovation of three kilometers of the road.

The road renovation included widening, building a retaining wall, and installing new curbs. This section is a continuation of investments in roads leading to the Olympic mountains, which have completely changed their appearance in recent years.

- We are continuing our investments in all municipalities of our canton. I am proud when I see what has been done and I am pleased when I hear people's comments about the renovated roads. It is not always easy, but it is always in the best interest of every person.

I thank the contractors for their efforts on each of these projects. Both Ilidža and all other municipalities will be equally important to us in the coming year, when it comes to investing in road infrastructure - concluded Šteta.
