Šteta: Intersection at Stup to be operational soon

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta visited the construction site of the intersection on the 13th Transversal today.

The intersection has been built, and asphalt was laid today on the section of the tram tracks. Two new traffic lanes have also been built, and work on the construction of two new tram stops is nearing completion.



- We expected challenges in the construction of the intersection on the 13th Transversal at Stup, but we did not expect to wait so long for the replacement of installations, which are handled by utility companies, and for the resolution of situations that did not relate to the construction of the intersection itself.

We had major challenges with water and sewage installations - Šteta stated.

He also emphasized that all of this is negligible compared to the fact that citizens will gain a new value, as the intersection did not exist before.

The installation of traffic lights has also begun, and in the coming period, the signage will be completed so that the intersection can be opened for public use.

The construction of the intersection will result in a safe, high-quality, and functional roadway, which will ease the daily lives of citizens and reduce traffic congestion towards Ilidža.

In addition, the use of public transport in that part of the city will soon be facilitated due to the proximity of the newly built tram stops.



Earlier, during the renovation of the tram line, the construction of this intersection was planned, so the tracks in that section were adapted for it.

- The construction of the intersection is proof that the quality of life can be significantly improved by building new values.
