Šteta: Reconstruction of the tram line is proceeding according to schedule

(Patria) - The first phase of the reconstruction of the tram line from Ilidža to Nedžarići is proceeding according to plans, and today the works were visited by the Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, Adnan Šteta.

"I receive daily reports on all activities related to the reconstruction of the line, and I maintain that good communication with all project participants is extremely important for every project, including this one, one of the most significant projects in Sarajevo Canton. The works are being carried out in accordance with the deadlines," said Minister Šteta.

In earlier periods, a complete geodetic network was developed, staking out and anti-corrosion protection on the poles were completed, and the elevations of the upper edge of the rails were marked along the section from the roundabout in Ilidža to the road crossing in Nedžarići.

Currently, excavation and embankment works are being carried out on this section. Before placing the embankment, laboratory tests and checks of the condition of the existing soil are being performed.

"There is a lot of work, there were certain challenges on some parts of the line that had somewhat poorer geological conditions, but through additional coordination of the necessary elements, they were resolved, all with the aim of ensuring stability and sustainability," added Minister Šteta.

The reconstruction of the line on the Ilidža-Marijin Dvor section is being done for the first time in more than 60 years.
