ŠTETA AND UK DON'T KNOW; Prosecutor's Office of KS will not investigate KJKP Gras debt due to unpaid taxes and contributions

(Patria) - KS Minister of Transport Adnan Šteta spoke last night on FTV about the criminal complaint filed by the previous KS Government, headed by Prime Minister Edin Forto, regarding the 300 million debt they found in the company KJKP Gras, which was on the verge of bankruptcy. This morning, the resigning Prime Minister Nihad Uk also spoke about the same debt, calling on the KS Prosecutor's Office to act on these reports and determine responsibility. The reports included 47 individuals, among them former directors and members of management structures in the company KJKP Gras.

We also sought a response from the KS Prosecutor's Office, which confirmed to us that an investigation will not be conducted.

“After this judicial institution received the report from the KS Office for Combating Corruption, the FBiH Financial Police, the Federation of BiH Tax Administration, and KS MUP investigators, they conducted detailed checks of the allegations in the report at the order of the KS Prosecutor's Office.

After analyzing the collected evidence, witness statements, and reviewing the submitted documentation, the acting prosecutors issued an order that the investigation will not be conducted, as there is no basis for suspicion that the reported individuals committed the criminal offense of negligent economic operations, abuse of authority in economic operations, and improper allocation of legal entity funds, for which they were reported. The report, among other things, related to the non-purposeful spending of company funds and tax evasion to the detriment of GRAS in the period from 2009 to 2016,” stated the KS Prosecutor's Office.

Although Šteta and Uk spoke exclusively about this case and report, there are other cases related to procurements in this company that are being handled by the POSKOK of the Federal Prosecutor's Office. These cases also include so-called secret contracts for the renovation of the tram line in Sarajevo.
