Šteta and Parents' Council Representatives: Raising Student Safety in Traffic to the Highest Level

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta held a meeting today with representatives of the Parents' Council of Sarajevo Canton and all six municipal coordinations of this important body operating in the field of education.

The reason for today's meeting was the implementation of the requests of parents of students from the Sarajevo Canton area, with the aim of improving traffic safety for all our schoolchildren.

“I am extremely satisfied with the proposals, constructiveness, and ideas of the parents of children attending schools in our canton. Many projects have been realized by our Ministry that have already improved the safety of our students, but considering all the citizens' proposals at the Open Day and the conversation with the Parents' Council of KS, the focus of our work in the next year, in addition to infrastructural projects, will also be on traffic safety around and on the way to school,” said Minister Šteta after this meeting.

On this occasion, the minister informed the parents about all planned activities, as well as the challenges that are evident in the division of responsibilities.

At this meeting, the parents presented and explained in detail to the minister the priority activities that need to be acted upon as soon as possible in the coming period.

“And we will act. Through joint work, analysis of all their proposals, and communication about all projects, we will establish cooperation and try to raise children's safety to the highest level, and significantly improve traffic conditions for all of them,” announced Minister Šteta.

At the end of this very constructive meeting, it was emphasized that, in addition to traffic challenges, there are many others that the KS Ministry of Transport cannot directly influence, but he and his associates will try to direct all such requests to lower levels of government, as well as to other relevant ministries, so that they too place this topic at the top of their priorities.
