Statistics Against the SDA-SBB Coalition: Unemployment is Rising, 1,000 Bosnian Citizens Left the Country in 2 Months

The promise of Bakir Izetbegović, the SDA president, to create 100,000 jobs in ten years was met with distrust. According to him, a quarter of this promise has been fulfilled in 17 months, writes the Patria News Agency.

- First, an embargo was placed on employment in the administration, and then nearly 25,000 jobs were created in the real sector - Izetbegović said a few days ago.

Izetbegović's coalition partner, Fahrudin Radončić, repeats the identical story, even though before entering the "Bosniak coalition" he claimed that unemployment was growing along with the number of employed people.

However, statistics do not support Izetbegović's claims, as according to data from the Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the end of August, there were 520,565 people registered with employment services. Compared to July, there was an increase of 500 unemployed people.

It should not be forgotten that BiH is still facing mass emigration of working-age individuals after completing their studies or due to the inability to find work in European countries. The Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed to Patria that departures occurred during July and August.

- In the mentioned period, 826 work permits were issued in Slovenia for our citizens, while the number of people who went to Germany through us is around 150 - says Boris Pupić, spokesperson for the Agency.

Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalić announced that another 150 people will lose their jobs in the institutions of the FBiH. This means that the negative trend of unemployment will continue.

According to the Agency's records, in August, unemployment increased by 1,748 people in the Federation of BiH, while it decreased by 1,146 people in Republika Srpska and by 102 people in Brčko District of BiH. In August, a total of 17,062 people were removed from the employment service records. Of this number, 10,698 people found employment.

At the same time, employment ended for 9,436 people, while employers reported the need for hiring 6,746 new workers during this period, which shows a disproportion between the number of unemployed and new hirings.
