State Department condemns referendum in RS: Political leaders should focus on urgent reforms

The US State Department condemned the holding of an illegal referendum in Republika Srpska on January 9th last Sunday, writes Patria.

State Department spokesperson Mark Toner reminded in his statement that the authorities in RS held the referendum contrary to the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- The US condemns this illegal referendum and will support institutions when it comes to responding to the organization of the referendum and obstruction of the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

We call on all political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina to refrain from further actions and rhetoric and to focus on the urgently needed social, political, and economic reforms.
