Old Town Primary Schools Receive Valuable IT Equipment

With today's ceremonial handover of computer equipment and the signing of the Agreement on the Handover and Maintenance of Computer Equipment, the project „Equipping Primary Schools with Computer Equipment“ has been completed. This project was prepared and proposed by the Local Development Department of the Stari Grad Municipality, and financially realized by the sister municipality Karamürsel from the Republic of Turkey. The ceremony at the Stari Grad Municipality was attended by the municipal mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, the Chairman of the Stari Grad Municipal Council Jusuf Pušina, the principals of six Old Town primary schools, and a special guest, the newly elected Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH, His Excellency Haldun Koç, Patria reports.

Mayor Hadžibajrić expressed great satisfaction in his address regarding the arrival of Ambassador Koç, for whom this was the first official visit to the Stari Grad Municipality.

- Although the Stari Grad Municipality, during my tenure as mayor, has twinned with eight Turkish municipalities, this is not the case with the Karamürsel Municipality. The exclusive credit for this goes to the former Consul General of our country in the Republic of Turkey, and today's Chairman of the Municipal Council, Jusuf Pušina.

Mayor Hadžibajrić added that Turkish municipalities have done a lot for Stari Grad and its citizens, but also that the Stari Grad Municipality has helped as much as it could.

In an emotional speech, the Chairman of the Stari Grad Municipal Council, Jusuf Pušina, emphasized:

- OŠ „Edhem Mulabdić“ is the school I attended, my children and my late wife also attended primary schools in Stari Grad, while my daughter works today in one of the primary schools. I am the person who twinned the municipalities of Stari Grad and Karamürsel. Many thanks to the Republic of Turkey and its representatives for helping and donating scientific and teaching aids.

The newly elected Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH, H.E. Haldun Koç, expressed great satisfaction with today's reason for his first visit to the Stari Grad Municipality.

- Our countries have always nurtured special ties and relations, and the realization of this project is just one of many indicators of that - said Ambassador Koç, among other things.

After the officials' addresses, the principals of the Old Town primary schools signed the agreements together with Mayor Hadžibajrić, and the IT equipment will be delivered to them shortly.

For the principal of OŠ „Edhem Mulabdić“, Aida Omersoftić, this was a very happy moment.

- We express great gratitude to the Karamürsel Municipality, but also to His Excellency Haldun Koç for everything that the people of Turkey and their government do for our country, especially for education in Stari Grad.

Thanks to the Municipality and the municipal mayor, this is just one in a series of aids that sister Turkish municipalities provide to Old Town schools. Each of the six Old Town primary schools will be provided with five modern computers with pre-installed licensed operating systems, as well as one printer, a video projector, and a projection screen. The value of this project amounts to around 40,000.00 KM, and the Municipality participated with an amount of 7,500.00 KM.
