Residents of Bare near Kakanj need furniture, clothes, stoves, painting supplies

Due to a landslide in the Kakanj settlement of Bare, which resulted in one person killed and several injured, numerous families have been evacuated and literally left homeless, writes the BH news agency Patria.

Although the Municipality of Kakanj and Mayor Nermin Mandra immediately got involved and sought alternative accommodation for these families, assistance is still needed.

Donations are arriving from Kakanj entrepreneurs as well as from other municipalities such as Centar, Goražde, and Tuzla. According to geologists, landslide remediation in Bare is possible, but only with full potential, as the Municipality of Kakanj alone will not be able to manage it.

Families evacuated from their homes urgently need furniture, clothing, footwear, duvets, bedding, stoves, beds, painting supplies, carpets...

The Kakanj Thermal Power Plant has also joined the effort to help the affected population, and all families will be able to get food items and household supplies at the Tirona store, paid for by the Kakanj Thermal Power Plant.

Although the Municipality of Kakanj sought to rent and purchase available properties for the accommodation of families, there is a possibility of purchasing a residential building owned by JP Elektroprivreda BiH. It is partially devastated, but the capacity of 20 studio apartments, which can also be combined, would permanently solve the accommodation problem.
