Stanić family robbed Feroelektro and nothing happened: Accounts blocked, workers still unpaid today

After the Feroelektro Shareholders' Assembly was held at the end of April this year, when Goran Stanić and his Supervisory Board were dismissed 18 months after the termination of the purchase agreement with Stanić invest, with Senad Smajić registered as acting director in June, there has been no progress to date, and workers remain without salaries, Patria reports.

Smajić was the head of the Union and, together with disenfranchised workers, sought for years to terminate the harmful contract, but today he is almost powerless to do anything more without government assistance, because the damage caused by Stanić is almost immeasurable, and accounts are blocked!

- All our accounts are still blocked, because the Indirect Taxation Authority, the Tax Administration and some banks are demanding their claims. There is a possibility of concluding agreements to repay the debt in installments, but for now there are no concrete steps regarding this - Smajić told Patria.

More than 30 workers still have no salary, and the Stanić family squandered this public company for years after a criminal privatization. Criminal charges have been filed with the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, but Smajić notes that the robbery should have been stopped back in 2008.

- What will we gain from it if a court process starts in five years? We have to live now. Stanić was simply allowed to do whatever he wanted. In a subsidiary company, after he saw his end was near, he gave permanent contracts to 30 workers, and now they have salaries, while we who fought to preserve the property as much as possible have nothing - Smajić emphasizes.

The debts left behind by Stanić amount to 12.5 million BAM, and around 40,000 BAM comes in monthly from rent, but there is nothing for the workers.

- Stanić opened companies as he wished, but we are not allowed to do that. Perhaps the solution is for us to establish a subsidiary company as well. The situation is difficult - added Smajić.

We remind you that the Court made the decision to terminate the privatization contract in December 2014. Goran Stanić obstructed the transfer of ownership to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for more than 18 months, and during that time collected nearly 2 million BAM from leasing Feroelektro's premises.

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina accepted in November the information on activities related to Feroelektro, and tasked the Privatization Agency of the Federation of BiH to engage an independent audit firm to prepare an audit report on the capital status of this company for the period from the conclusion of the purchase agreement until June 30, 2016.
