Stanić on hold: Council of Ministers wants to hear why Mektić chose the third-placed candidate from the ranking list

At today's session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, an agenda item concerning the appointment of the SIPA director was supposed to be discussed. However, due to the absence of Dragan Mektić, the Minister of Security of BiH, the confirmation of Perica Stanić's appointment as SIPA director was again postponed.

As Patria learns, the Council of Ministers of BiH wants to hear Mektić's explanation as to why he chose the third-placed Stanić from the ranking list compiled by the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. However, it is known that there were differing views within SDS as well, so Mladen Bosić wanted to see Davor Vidović, who was second on the ranking list, at the helm of SIPA. Judging by the outcome of events, SDS is not particularly happy with the fact that Mektić chose Stanić, with whom he has a godfather relationship, instead of Vidović.

The first-placed candidate, Tomislav Mirosavić, had no chance, as he is close to SNSD, and he can largely thank Žika Krunić, the chairman of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, for his first place on the ranking list.
