Civil Protection Staff of Sarajevo Canton orders Faculty of Civil Engineering to cede one wing of the building to KCUS

The Civil Protection Staff of Sarajevo Canton, chaired by commander and Minister of Communal Affairs and Infrastructure Nihada Glamoč, at today's Fifth Extraordinary Session adopted an Order mandating the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Sarajevo to temporarily cede one wing of the building to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo for the purpose of potential accommodation of patients infected with coronavirus (COVID-19).

An Order was also adopted mandating stores that were exempted by a previous Order of the Federal Civil Protection Staff, dated March 19 this year, to organize their work until 4:30 PM, with the exception of pharmacies on duty.

The Staff also adopted an Order tasking municipal Civil Protection Staffs to, in cooperation with the Pensioners' Association, the Red Cross, and social welfare centers, create lists of persons over 65 years of age living alone in their municipalities, in order to provide them with support in delivering essential supplies.

An Order was also adopted mandating municipal mayors and the mayor in Sarajevo Canton to organize working hours in municipalities, or the City, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and if necessary and based on priorities, outside of the newly established working hours.

The Staff also adopted an Order mandating the commanders of municipal Civil Protection Staffs in Sarajevo Canton to submit all information on the type and quantity of medical, protective, and other equipment, which has been procured and is currently being procured for the purpose of preventing and stopping the further spread of the infection caused by the coronavirus, to the Civil Protection Staff of Sarajevo Canton in a tabular format, indicating which service, unit, or other institution it was procured for. By the same Order, they were instructed to mandatory introduce 24-hour duty in municipal Civil Protection Staffs and to submit the names and surnames of the duty officers along with their contact phone numbers to the Cantonal Civil Protection Operational Center every day by 10:00 AM.

At this session, the Staff members also analyzed the current situation in the Canton, caused by the emergence and spread of the coronavirus in our country. They also reviewed all measures and activities undertaken to date in implementing previous orders from all competent Civil Protection Staffs.
